Compliance Associate - Position Details

POSITION:              Compliance Associate

DEPARTMENT:       Operations, RecallsLegal & Compliance

JOB LOCATION:      Hybrid: London/Remote

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Compliance Associate is primarily responsible for implementing and monitoring the contractual and regulatory requirements of the various lender programs as they relate to securities lending and short-term investment management activities. This role assists with various compliance testing and requires attention to detail and diligence. The Compliance Associate is a primary liaison internally for compliance-related inquiries.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Updates pre-trade compliance system for securities lending and short-term investment management programs as required following established internal Program Change protocols.
  • Daily monitoring and reporting of Lenders contractual and regulatory securities lending parameters.
  • Confirm daily that short-term investments are in compliance with client investment guidelines.
  • Review of cash and non-cash collateral to confirm there is sufficient collateral.
  • Daily compliance review of discretionary securities lending activity.
  • Escalate non-compliant situations internally for appropriate escalation.
  • Follow-up and assist with the resolution of non-compliant situations to ensure that appropriate corrective action is taken.
  • Maintain and distribute a Monthly Compliance reporting.
  • Partner with the Client Relations team on annual comprehensive review of Lender programs.
  • Assist with business improvements and automation projects as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Seeking a college graduate with a BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field with at least two years of related work experience. Experience developing and/or testing compliance programs for clients in the financial services industry a plus. Candidates must be detail-oriented, have excellent oral and written communication skills, be capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, work well under tight deadlines, possess good problem-solving skills, take a proactive approach to their personal development and be open to feedback. Candidates should have previous experience and/or proficiency in financial markets. Advanced Excel skills and prior use of Bloomberg a plus.

Securities Lending Associate (10pm – 7 AM EST) - Position Details

POSITION:              Securities Lending Associate (10pm – 7 AM EST)

JOB LOCATION:     Boston, MA or UK (London)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Securities Lending Associate (SLA) will provide direct assistance to eSecLending’s clients and broker/dealer communities in Europe, Asia and North America. This position is responsible for booking sell notifications, monitoring past due recalls and receipt and issuance of potential buy-in notices. This includes ensuring that all sell and recall processes for exclusive and discretionary securities lending programs are in compliance with established procedures. The SLA will also take loan and return instructions from the brokers and ensure accurate trade bookings internally as well as at the custodian level. Candidate will have considerable interaction with the broker/dealer community and custodians and will be responsible for following up on settlement of returns, recalls and sells throughout the shift. Candidate will be expected to escalate urgent settlement and buy-in issues to their supervisors in a timely manner. The candidate will need to develop and establish effective positive working relationships both internally and externally to successfully perform the job.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • 10 pm – 7 am working schedule (Hybrid) with requirement to have an office presence for training.
  • APAC market support primarily in Taiwan.
  • Process and track trade notification from lender’s, investment managers and/or lender’s custodian(s) within established timeframes
  • Ensure the timely and accurate distribution of recall notices to the borrowers, track and monitor open recalls and provide follow up as needed; escalate any sensitive issues with Supervisor.
  • Ensure daily global operational processes and procedures efficiently and effectively reduce exposure, while providing quality service and compliance with individual lender guidelines and risk parameters
  • Develop, maintain and leverage borrower relationships to provide quality services by determining and adapting to the changing requirements of borrowers.
  • Support other operational business units as needed (settlements team, etc)
  • Optimize current procedures and processes to greater efficiency

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS/BA preferred; preferably in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or related field.
  • 2 years related work experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office (specifically Word and Outlook)
  • Demonstrated success with detail-oriented work.
  • Must be capable of managing multiple tasks at the same time without supervision.
  • Requires excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Works well in a fast-paced, and deadline driven environment.
  • Prior securities lending settlement experience a plus.

Middle Office Analyst

Middle Office Analyst - Position Details

POSITION:              Middle Office Analyst

DEPARTMENT:       Operations – Middle Office

JOB LOCATION:     Boston, MA

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Middle Office Analyst position will have a primary role in the broader Onboarding and Middle Office functions as relates to ensuring data integrity for front office and trading desks.  Secondary focus is given to the Billing process in order to collect fees from various broker dealer counterparts.  The role involves extensive interaction with the network of broker dealers as well as multiple internal departments.  Integration and cross-training with the other Middle Office staff and support for the Securities Financing trading desk are also critical aspects of the position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead to implement and set up program around Lender specific auctions by accurately lotting programs and working with broker dealer community to ensure all operational components are addressed before program start.
  • Coordinate with Front Offices and broker dealers for the onboarding of new relationships
  • Monitor and report on all dividend trades to ensure fee calculations and billing are accurate; handle high volume of trades to seasonal trading strategies.
  • Daily review of the automated reconciliations with broker dealers through market data vendors; work with trading desk and other internal departments to resolve all variances.
  • Handle all requests from Client Relations, Securities Financing trading desk and other departments on intrinsic fee and rebate issues and create ad hoc reports for senior management.
  • Cross train with other Middle Office staff to increase knowledge base as well as provide full level of support.
  • Meeting monthly deadlines with regards to issuance and collection of fees
  • Focus on transitioning the process to external vendor to enable automation of the process

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS/BA preferred; preferably in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or related field.
  • At least two (2-3) years related financial services work experience.
  • Candidates must be detail oriented and self-motivated.
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects; and possess good problem-solving skills.
  • Candidates should be proficient in MS Office (specifically Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Previous experience and/or proficiency in financial markets. Advanced Excel skills are desirable.
